On opening day for the Rangers, April 3, 2017, patients were given either Cracker Jack or sunflower seeds, those good ole baseball park standbys. Patients that week also entered their name in a drawing for a “Take Me Out to the Ballpark” basket.
Dr. Bruyere and his grandpuppies gave homemade dog treats to the “furiends” of our patients for Valentine’s Day.
We celebrated National Taco Day by giving each patient that day a gift card for a free taco from Fuzzy’s Taco Shop.

National S’mores Day was August 10 and we gave out s’mores kits to each patient that day. It was a lot of fun!

We celebrated Chicken Soup for the Soul Day at our office. Each patient received a can of chicken noodle soup and the reminder that, “In all things, give thanks…” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Dr. Bruyere has had an aquarium in his office for 31 years. Not only does it provide a calming influence for our patients, it provides him with a great deal of joy. We hope you love it as much as he does!

Dr. Bruyere and his family walked in the 2nd Annual Survivor’s Celebration Walk, on October 8, 2011, in honor of Barbara Powell. This walk was sponsored by the Life Beyond Cancer Foundation and the Texas Oncology Longview Cancer Center.
During the month of October, Dr. Bruyere and his staff gave free “Think Pink” t-shirts to his Facebook fans and patients who brought in 25 “Save Lids to Save Lives” Yoplait yogurt lids. We honored and remembered the breast cancer warriors all during the month with pink pumpkins and decorations in the office. We also gave away pink ribbons to our patients.
Dr. Bruyere and his staff had fun decorating our entry, a penguin, in the Sherman Sherman Briscoe Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Online voting proved to be very competitive and even though we did not win, we had a lot of fun!
During the month of November, Dr. Bruyere and staff supported our troops and participated with the American Legion by collecting items for Operation Appreciation, 2011. For every dollar spent on items for our troops, we doubled that amount off in our office AND entered the donating patient’s name in a drawing for a gift certificate to GZs and two movie tickets. Our winner, Christina H. was very excited to have her name drawn and we were very excited to have so many items for our troops!
We celebrated in December by gathering stocking stuffers for children in need for the Longview Angel Tree Organization. Once again, for every dollar spent on stocking stuffers, we offered double that amount off in our office, plus the chance to win a gift certificate to Tyler Street Bistro and two movie tickets. Dawn V., our winner, brought so many wonderful items and we really appreciated her generosity!
