2) Correct esthetic flaws. Dr. Bruyere performs every dental procedure with an artistic flair. In many cases, functional restoration will address your cosmetic concerns. However, if you are still not satisfied with the appearance of your teeth, cosmetic procedures are available. The color, size, shape, spacing, and alignment can be changed.

3) See your dentist regularly. Checkups and routine professional cleanings are vital to maintaining oral health. Be sure to discuss your concerns and ask any questions you may have, and listen to the advice your dentist and hygienist give you. If you have eaten or drank something highly acidic, such an energy drink, rinse your mouth immediately, but wait about an hour before brushing. Acid softens the enamel, and brushing before it re-hardens can cause damage. Floss at least once a day, being careful to clean all surfaces.

5) Protect your smile. Many habits, activities, and lifestyle choices can endanger your oral health. Smoking stains teeth, increases the risk of gum disease, and slows the healing process. Red wine and many dark foods or beverages can stain your teeth. Sugary or acidic foods and drinks erode enamel and promote tooth decay. You can also protect your teeth from injury and premature wear with mouth guards. There are different types available for protecting teeth while playing sports, or wearing at night to prevent grinding teeth.
