Dr. Clint Bruyere has been providing quality dental care for Longview residents for nearly 30 years. He and his phenomenal staff are dedicated to creating healthy, beautiful smiles for patients of all ages. A wide variety of cosmetic and restorative procedures are available to treat virtually any dental problem imaginable. However, Dr. Bruyere believes that prevention is always better than treatment, and a healthy mouth is the foundation for a beautiful smile.

Excellent oral health requires a partnership between you and your dental care provider.

1) Restore health and functionality. The first priority is treating existing health issues, such as infections, caries (tooth decay), or periodontal (gum) disease. Missing, broken, decayed, or severely worn teeth should be restored to prevent further damage and protect your other teeth.

2) Correct esthetic flaws. Dr. Bruyere performs every dental procedure with an artistic flair. In many cases, functional restoration will address your cosmetic concerns. However, if you are still not satisfied with the appearance of your teeth, cosmetic procedures are available. The color, size, shape, spacing, and alignment can be changed.

3) See your dentist regularly. Checkups and routine professional cleanings are vital to maintaining oral health. Be sure to discuss your concerns and ask any questions you may have, and listen to the advice your dentist and hygienist give you. Remember that Dr. Bruyere and his team are your partners in oral health; communication and cooperation is important.

4) Practice good oral hygiene. Brush thoroughly after every meal, and avoid snacking between meals. If you have eaten or drank something highly acidic, such an energy drink, rinse your mouth immediately, but wait about an hour before brushing. Acid softens the enamel, and brushing before it re-hardens can cause damage. Floss at least once a day, being careful to clean all surfaces.

5) Protect your smile. Many habits, activities, and lifestyle choices can endanger your oral health. Smoking stains teeth, increases the risk of gum disease, and slows the healing process. Red wine and many dark foods or beverages can stain your teeth. Sugary or acidic foods and drinks erode enamel and promote tooth decay. You can also protect your teeth from injury and premature wear with mouth guards. There are different types available for protecting teeth while playing sports, or wearing at night to prevent grinding teeth.
